A Better Life Experience

Welcome to our website, my name is Rebecca Eichhorn and I am the co-founder of Project A.B.L.E. We started in 2001 with a pilot program working with Marion County and based on the success of that program Project A.B.L.E. was born. There was so much success with the initial program that we began to think about having additional services. We decided to form a non-profit and continue to help the community. One of our original board members Lorenzo and I were talking about what to call it and he said,

“I don’t care what we call it as long as people have a better life experience.”

Project A.B.L.E. provides peer services and support to people with mental health and co-occurring issues, helping them come out of isolation and reconnect to the community. Project A.B.L.E. provides a path to live healthfully and experience a normal life again without judgement in a safe environment. These services embrace human dignity, expand the capacity for individuals to recover and promote life-long empowerment.

Who We Serve

Project A.B.L.E. serves individuals who are or have been, clients of professional mental health services such as: community mental health centers; patients of psychiatric hospitalization; survivors of mental illness; and recipients of inpatient or outpatient chemical dependency services.

What We Do

Project A.B.L.E. provides peer-peer support services for individuals with metal health diagnosis and/ or facing mental health challenges. Project A.B.L.E. offers a full range of peer-to-peer support services, trainings, volunteer and leaderships opportunities.
